Hello! My name is Alyssa Osheim and I am one of the new Marketing interns for COMNIO. I’m excited to help out this cool company for the summer and develop some valuable marketing skills along the way.
A little background info: I am from Flower Mound, Texas, which is between Dallas and Fort Worth. Now I attend The University of Texas in Austin, where I study Marketing with a minor in Management Information Systems. For a short time, I wanted to pursue an Accounting degree because of its reputation for being a lucrative field, but after taking my required Accounting classes, I decided that it wasn’t my cup of tea. I have had an interest in Marketing since my junior year of high school, so I decided to embrace the motto “Do what you love” and declare Marketing.
I am currently involved in a Marketing organization called the American Marketing Association (AMA). For the upcoming fall semester, I will serve as the Content Marketing Officer for AMA. This role includes creating content calendars, helping schedule social media posts, and writing the content for each social media post.
I am also involved in the Greek organization, Delta Gamma. My sorority has held the #1 GPA ranking out of all organizations on campus for multiple semesters in a row. We’re also known for our commitment to our philanthropy, Service for Sight and the work we do for Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. I couldn’t be more proud to be a part of such an intelligent, driven, and genuine group of girls.
Apart from my activities on campus, I am also in the process of starting a beauty blog. My blog will feature hair and makeup looks as well as product reviews. I’m hoping to develop my photography skills at the same time since I will be using my own DSLR camera to take photos of my “models” (my best friends are all too willing to let me do their hair and makeup) and beauty products. The main reason I’m starting a beauty blog is because I’ve had an obsession with beauty products since I was in middle school and can see myself building a career in the beauty industry.
Some fun facts about me: I love any and all sweets – the more carbs the better! My mom’s homemade chocolate chip cookies and Teo Coffee with Cookies and Cream gelato are a couple of my favorites. I’m also a huge shopper. It’s so much fun finding deals on quality clothing and shoe brands. I rely on coffee to get through my day, I love to run, and one of my favorite pastimes is getting lost in a good book.
What brought me to COMNIO? Back in March, I attended a startup career fair at my school hosted by my marketing organization. After talking to Ross at the COMNIO table, I began actively pursuing the Marketing Internship position. I am thrilled to be here today working with such a talented group of people – thanks for having me!
